Palm Springs Digital Fantasies

Artist Statement

I created these works to explore how the themes and colours of my work would look using brand new artificial intelligence technology. The pieces are based on my Infra Realism and Avalon series and my 13 visits to Palm Springs, California. It required the process of me distilling the essence of what makes my photographs and vision unique, and then seeing what new worlds the technology could create. My Infra Realism series is currently part of a touring exhibition “Lost in Palm Springs” curated by Greer Honeywill and I decided to apply her thesis of being lost in the literal Palm Springs to being lost in a digital re-imagining of the Palm Springs of my imagination. These are digital images, not photographs.
